“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.”
Colossians 3:16

What Are Your Worship Services Like?

Our public worship services are an opportunity for all kinds of people from within our community to draw near to God even as God has promised to draw near to us when we come to him in faith. In every aspect of our gatherings, we endeavor to exalt our Savior Jesus Christ who’s death on the cross has paid the full penalty for the sins of every person who will put their trust in him.

Through each of the elements of our worship services, attenders are lovingly encouraged to:
  • be humbled as they marvel at the majesty of God’s glory,
  • repent of all sin and rest in the immeasurable riches of God’s grace
  • continually grow in their knowledge of and obedience to God’s truth
  • and be spiritually equipped to live as faithful witnesses for Christ in God’s world.

Moreover, we endeavor to worship God according to the particular ways that he has taught us to worship him in his Word. This means that the defining question for us is not "What do people like?" or "What will make us popular?" but rather, "What will please the Lord whom we love because he has first loved us?"

In holy Scripture, God has promised to mightily bless, strengthen, encourage, and equip his people through the Spirit-empowered ministries of:

  • the faithful reading and preaching of his Word,
  • the singing of psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs which magnify the King of Glory,
  • the cheerful giving of tithes and offerings based on the material blessings of God
  • the proper administration of the sacraments of Baptism and the Lord's Supper,
  • and through earnest prayers of confession, thanksgiving, and petition.
All of these are the sorts of elements you can expect in our worship services because these are the things which God teaches us to do in worship throughout the Bible.

“This is my body, which is broken for you. Do this is remembrance of me."
I Corinthians 11:24

When Do You Observe the Sacraments?

In accordance with the teaching of the Reformed tradition of the Christian Faith, we affirm the two sacraments given by our Lord in the New Testament which are Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

The Lord's Supper

It is our tradition to reverently observe the Lord’s Supper on the first Sunday of every month. To better understand who the Lord’s Supper is for, according to God’s Word, take a few minutes to watch this sermon by our pastor: “Who Is To Be Welcomed To the Lord’s Supper?” You may also find this article helpful for learning how to prepare your heart to receive the Lord's Supper in a way that truly honors Christ.

Baptism

Baptisms also take place during our worship services as God brings new covenant children into the world, or new first-time believers into his household. To learn more about the beautiful sacrament of baptism, check out this sermon by our pastor, "Baptism: The Promise Is For You & For Your Children".

“Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God."
Mark 10:14

What Do You Have For My Children?

We believe that children have a very special and important place in the covenant community of God’s people, (Ps. 78:4-8). As a church, we joyfully embrace God’s call to shepherd and care for each and every member of our body, and that includes your children. We want to help the children of our church grow up in the faith, knowing and loving Jesus Christ personally, from a very young age. Toward this end, we offer two primary discipleship tools to help families with young children:

1. During our Sunday worship services, children are always welcome to stay in the entire worship service with their parents. However, for those families who desire, we provide a Covenant Kids ministry which includes a nursery for infants 0-24 months and a class for children aged 2-5 during the sermon. Little ones will worship right alongside their parents or caretakers until they are dismissed to their classroom following the pastoral prayer. Children 2-5 will return to their parents following the sermon. Infants will be picked up by their parents after the conclusion of the service.

2. Additionally, during the Fall, Winter, & Spring seasons we hold a robust discipleship ministry for the whole church on Sunday afternoons from 4:30-6:00 PM called Lord's Day Discipleship. During this time, we have tailored discipleship classes for our children, teens, and adults. This is a wonderful opportunity for every member of the family to grow strong in their faith and to build meaningful relationships with their peers.

A Safe Space To Grow
As a final note, we want you to be assured that all of our children’s ministry volunteers are well-known to the Elders of our church, distinguished for their gentleness, love and Christian maturity, and have been carefully background checked prior to serving.
